Welcome to our club

Welcome to the 2015/16 season. With 4 out of 9 adult sides playing in higher leagues this year, plus a rejuvenated Junior Section, the club has never been in better health. This is not to say that we can’t do a better job though and for this reason the key objective for the committee is simply communication.

We are, like most clubs, a volunteer led organisation. There are so many great things on offer at BHC, such as Back to Hockey, mixed teams and a thriving social scene. On top of this we put out 9 senior and numerous junior sides, all of which get access to quality coaching and competition opportunity. To deliver this we need members who are prepared to give up their valuable time. It is therefore vital that our members know what the club is trying to achieve and feel a part of it.

The more members we have who are prepared to pitch in, the closer we become to achieving our over-riding aim of providing a great place for people within the area to play hockey. Our First Teams are now playing at an appropriate level to provide a stretch for most players, whilst our other sides can offer progression to up and coming junior players and competitive recreation to the rest of our members.

We believe in playing to win on the pitch, but at the same time are able to accept defeat with good grace. It goes without saying that we are always hospitable to oppositions, visitors and new members. In short we are a club that wishes to produce good people (as well as good players) and provide them with a first class experience of a genuinely inclusive sport. Best wishes to all for the season ahead.
